Water and health in mining settings in sub-Saharan Africa: A mixed methods geospatial visualization

Industrial mining transforms local landscapes, including important health determinants like clean water and sanitation. In this paper, we combined macro-level quantitative micro-level qualitative data to show how projects affect infrastructures ultimately the of affected communities. Although observed a positive trend infrastructure in settings, surrounding communities are also characterized by scarcity degradation quality. The video at core publication showcases inter-linkages findings obtained both macro- micro-levels, embedding our results geospatial context. While can have impacts on development infrastructure, improved management negative is needed for promoting ‘Good well-being’ ‘Clean sanitation’ as promulgated Sustainable Development Goals 2030 Agenda.
